A bonded seal consists of a metal washer with an elastomeric ring securely inside the diameter. The metal helps to limit the deformation and the elastomeric ring helps prevents an over-compression. These washers are used to seal bolt and prevent leakage from hydraulic fittings, piper joints and valve bodies. Tend to be used in applications that require a stronger seal than normal washers.
